Rain policy
If it is raining pregame First, keep in mind that just because it is raining in some parts of Lakeland or Polk County, it may not be raining at the ballpark. On days where it is raining, or when raining is expected, check the Flying Tigers website frequently for updates on the game status. If it is raining before the start of the game, the Flying Tigers grounds crew and staff will be hard at work protecting the field from the rain and wind. If the rain stops before the game's scheduled start, the game will start as close to schedule as possible. If the rain continues, the Flying Tigers management, in conjunction with both managers and the umpires, will invoke a rain delay until the rain ceases.
If it begins to rain during the game...
If it begins to rain during the game, the Flying Tigers grounds crew and staff will quickly cover the infield with the tarp. At that time, the FSL umpires will work in conjunction with Flying Tigers management, the two managers and local weather outlets to determine the path of the storm and the forecast. If the FSL umpires feel that the inclement weather will pass, a rain delay is put into effect. If the FSL umpires feel that the inclement weather will not pass in a reasonable amount of time, and there is no way there is going to be a game then an official rainout is announced.
Rainout Ticket Policy
In the event 5 innings of a game are not completed, except when the home team is in the lead at the end of 4-1/2 innings, your ticket will be good for any 2019 regular season game and may be exchanged for a ticket of equal or lesser value subject to availability, at the Baycare box office. Box office hours are Mon-Fri 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. For all Saturday and Sunday home games, the box office will open at 2 p.m. on Saturday home games and 11 a.m. on Sunday home games.
Exchanges will not be accepted for participation in Wednesday all-you-can-eat promotions and require the purchase of an all-you-can-eat ticket ($10-$12 in advance, $13-$15 days of game). Select giveaways also require a purchased ticket for that day's game. Complimentary tickets may not be exchanged.
If a game is called due to inclement weather or other circumstances after five innings have been played, a game is considered "official." In this case, there will be no ticket exchanges.
