Shelby enters his 20th year in the Blue Jays organization, and his 11th as Director of Florida Operations. Shelby joined the Toronto Blue Jays in 2001 as an Account Executive. in 2003, he was promoted to Manager of Product Development, and eventually became the Manager of Group Sales. In 2007, Shelby was named Director of Retail Sales before joining the Dunedin Blue Jays as GM in 2008.
He studied Sports Management in York University in Toronto, Canada, and currently resides in Palm Harbor, Florida with his wife and three children.
Dea joined the staff in November 2018 as the Administrative Assistant for Florida Operations.
Dea grew up in Staunton, VA but moved to Florida from England where her and her husband, Jay, resided for 3 years. They now live in Port Richey with their black lab Shadow and Siberian Husky Miska. Dea also has 2 sons, Jamie and Tim and 5 grandchildren.
Dea worked for FOX13 in Tampa before finding the dream job with the Blue Jays! She is an avid baseball fan and enjoys UNC men's basketball.
Zach joined the Blue Jays as Coordinator, Retail Sales & Operations in November 2021, after having previously worked for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Clearwater Threshers.
Outside of work, Zach enjoys distance running, being outdoors, shopping at Trader Joe's, and cooking. He also enjoys sports and supports the Lightning, Rowdies, and Chelsea F.C. Zach digs deep into spin rates and xWOBA when he is not discussing unsuccessful bunts.
Finance & Accounting
Gayle Gentry joined the staff in March 2011 as the Accounting Manager. She is originally from Danville, Illinois and a graduate of Southern Illinois University. She and her Husband, Harry, have been in Florida for 15 years and enjoy the weather year-round.
When Gayle is not cheering for the Blue Jays, she is trying to keep track of what their 8 grandchildren are up to. Her hobbies are baking for staff (thanks Gayle!), raising orchids and knitting.
Matt began working with the Blue Jays in April of 2017 as a game day employee. He then joined the front office as a Spring Training Coordinator in January of 2018. Matt is originally from Niles, OH before relocating south and he attended Kent State University.
Matt's baseball career started in Mahoning Valley where he served as the Scrappers' In-Game Host and stadium DJ from 2014-2016.
When he is not cheering on the Blue Jays, Matt enjoys golfing, playing music, going to the beach, and watching Cleveland Browns football.
Andrew started working with the Blue Jays in December of 2018. He is from Prairieville, LA but spent four years in Dade City, Florida attending Saint Leo University before joining the Blue Jays.
While at Saint Leo, Andrew obtained a degree in Sport Business. Previously, he worked as an intern for the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, and more recently was the basketball communications intern for the Charlotte Hornets.
Andrew looks forward to spending his days at the ballpark, and you can also catch him talking obsessively about the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans.
Mitch joined the Blue Jays in 2021 during the MLB regular season as gameday staff and was promoted to Coordinator, Ticket Operations, Sales, and Service in January 2022. He is originally from Oceanside, California but predominantly grew up in Melbourne, Florida. Mitch attended Florida State University and received his bachelor’s degree focused in Business Management and Sport Management in 2020. He continued his education at Florida State and earned a master’s degree in Sport Management, which is proudly ranked the #1 Sport Management graduate program in the United States.
Outside of the Blue Jays, Mitch closely follows the San Francisco 49ers and other Bay Area teams, as well as Florida State athletics. He also enjoys playing golf with friends and family, traveling, and hanging out with his dog, Clara.
