Appleton, WI – The Cedar Rapids Kernels dropped their fifth straight game on Sunday afternoon 5-4 to Wisconsin, chasing the Timber Rattler starter after three but failing to scratch across another run against the bullpen. The Timber Rattlers knotted things at 4-4 with a run of their own in the bottom of the third before both bullpens took over.

Tyler Palm carved over 3.0 scoreless innings of relief, striking out four and allowing just two baserunners on a hit and a walk. Matthew Swain likewise threw extremely well, allowing just one run on two hits over 3.0 innings of work while striking out three.
